Common questions
01. Does it write to our SharePoint list?
Yes, and that is the point. A submission writes one item to the list you point it at, with any attachments on that item. It does not create lists, alter columns or touch anything else in the site.
02. What happens to the items already in the list?
Nothing. It sits over the list you already have, so existing items, views and any flow reading them keep working. Take the form away and the list is exactly as it was.
03. Can people outside our organisation fill it in?
Only if you publish it that way. By default it is an internal form and respects the list’s own permissions, so somebody who cannot see the list cannot submit to it.
04. What permissions does the SharePoint Forms need?
Site owner once, to install it. After that a person needs contribute on the target list to submit, which is the permission they would need to add the item by hand.
05. Is the SharePoint Forms a trial for something paid?
No, and there is no paid version of the form. Where the form is one step in a process rather than the whole of it, that is a Custom Operational Apps engagement.
