Common questions
01. Where does it get the reporting lines?
From the manager attribute in Entra ID. If the chart looks wrong, the directory is wrong, which is usually the more useful thing to have found out.
02. What does the Org Chart Web Part read, and what does it change?
It reads name, job title, photo and manager from the directory and draws them. It writes nothing back, so nobody edits an HR record through the intranet by accident.
03. What happens when someone joins or leaves?
The chart follows the directory, so a starter appears and a leaver drops off once their account is updated. There is no second version for anybody to maintain.
04. Does it show people staff could not see before?
No. It shows the directory your tenant already exposes to signed-in staff, and it does not surface accounts that are hidden from the address list.
05. Is the Org Chart Web Part a trial for something paid?
